Note 1: play around with the D.  The main riff involves hammering on the high E string and adding a 3rd fretted note with the 2.  Listen to the record to pick up on the main riff's pull ons and adds.  It should be pretty easy to hear.  The chorus uses the first part of riff 1.

Note 2: the F# is not actually played by the guitar.  You can "fake" the bass' addition by adding the little walk up F# for the sake of completeness.
